Social Butterfly

My friends sometimes call me “Social Butterfly:” One day I’m here, the day after, I’m somewhere else. I don’t know if this is good or bad, but what I know is that when I’m here, I enjoy every second of the experience.

That’s what I did for over four months at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce working on AirbnBrooklyn; a fellowship with Airbnb, aiming at developing business and tourism opportunities in Brooklyn. Four intense months where I helped to getting the program started, reaching out to almost 400 businesses in BedStuy, Bushwick, Williamsburg and Greenpoint and coordinating the organization and promotion of two successful networking meet-ups in December 2015 and March 2016.

But more intense than that, was the great feeling I had when, leaving these two meet-ups, business owners and Airbnb hosts kept on joyfully mingling and hanging out until late night. That’s when the social butterfly’s role comes into play; discretely fly away at the right moment, knowing that the ones who stay have all they need to keeping on having fun, and that, indeed they will!

As per me; following my social butterfly instinct, I am quoting regretted David Bowie’s words “I don’t know where I am going from now, but I know it won’t be boring.” And I’m sure you’ll hear more about it in this blog soon.
