The last time I saw that many CUNY Services Corps members gathering together was for the kick off event at BMCC back in September. This time, we gathered at Lehman college, in the Bronx. Students from all over the boroughs were here to celebrate the end of this wonderful adventure that was CUNY Service Corps 2014-15.
Besides of remarks and award ceremony, seven concurrent panel discussions took place. I was honored to be invited, with my placement site‘s supervisor, Quintana O’Neill, to talk about Godigital in the panel discussion “How I’ve Expanded My Technological Knowledge through My Experience in the Service Corps.”
A great opportunity for me to practice my public speaking and learn the secrets of Prezi, so much nicer than PowerPoint.
But above all, a great opportunity to realize how much I have grown by participating in CUNY Service Corps. A year ago, I applied to this program eager to get involved with New York City’s community. Mission accomplished! Yet, I have the feeling that this is just the beginning: CUNY Service Corps is over for me, but I am sure I’ll soon publish in this blog new adventures.
I cannot end that post without saying thank you to the CUNY Service Corps staff members. Particularly Kafui Kouakou, Jessica Brother, Ofronama Biu, Melissa Fernandez, Kimberly Chu and Rachel Stephenson who have supported me, and hundreds of CUNY students along this journey.
